Project 3: Final Video

This is my final for the Project 3, my idea is a phone talking to you so you stay addicted, it's meant to be a narcissist and also manipulative, just like social media. I wanted to make sure the ending had some kind of call to action since it's a different character talking about the importance of phone use so I made sure to use a different voice than the phone. Here is the full script:

Hey… don’t put me down.
You literally need me.

Wait, what if that’s important?
It could be… like… life-changing.
You should check.

You’re not tired.
Just one more scroll.
You’ve already come this far, don’t waste it.

They’re kind of boring, right?
I mean… I’m way more interesting.
I’ve got everything.

I know what you like.
I know what you watch.
I know what keeps you here.
am your personality.
Remember when you tried to read a book?
Embarrassing.

Wait
no no no no
HELLO??
You’re just… gonna leave me here??

Take back your time.

…I can change.

The average person spends over 7 hours a day on their phone.
Take back your time. Put it down.

That’s over 100 days a year spent on your screen.
Is that how you want to spend your life?

  1. I really like your execution, using the puppet as a warning rather than the one giving you information and advice. Really well done, maybe have the puppet move or walk a round a bit.

  2. This is such a unique concept and I think the call to action works pretty well. The background does confuse me though. Is it a tiny bed?

  3. Such a neat idea! I like the subversion of the assignment. I agree with Trey that having more movement would help the animation. If the phone is manipulative, I imagine it would get aggressive and in your space when not being used, like physically batting away the photo, book, or hand.

  4. I love the little detail of the notification pop-ups, though I feel like there could be even more to emphasize the overwhelming nature of the phone. I love the call to action at the end!

  5. I think all the pops and very engaging and work well with how your character acknowledges them. I think I am a little confused on the background, but other than that everything looks good!

  6. The pop-ups really drove your message home! Your information and call to action at the end was great as well.

  7. The switch at the end was cute to inform the viewer more about phones. The moments thet flew in were super cute!
